Hallowe'en Cutie

I have just returned from a visit to the city where I spent a few days visiting my Mom & catching up with the friends I used to craft with before moving to the lake. We got together for lunch & a good giggle. I think the waitress was glad to see us leave...we were there for over 3 hours! Have you ever noticed how time flies when you are with great friends? I drove home on Thursday afternoon & I am sooooo glad I didn't wait until yesterday as originally planned. We had the weirdest weather yesterday! Everything from sunshine, cloud, high winds, rain, sleet & even SNOW! Yuck, it is way too early for that dreaded white stuff! Today was chilly but lovely & sunny. So, I have just made my first ever Hallowe'en card! Can you believe it....61 yrs. old & making my first one! And, I think it is adorable if I do say so myself. The image is from Sandi Huggett at The Outlawz, CS is Bazzill & there is NO DP! (another first for me!) the scalloped frame is a sticker from Making Memories that has been in my stash for over a year; the ribbon is also from my stash & is probably 2 yrs. old; the bling is from Queen & Co.

The next picture is a real bear that was chomping on acorns just a few cottages down from us the other night.....he wasn't the least bit concerned that I was there taking his picture (from the safety of my car!)

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

  5. Renee, I love your adorable card, but am a bit weary of that big old black bear. You were very brave taking his pic. We don't have bears here in South Africa, so thats why I am probably a bit more cautious than you are ... lol

  6. Good grief! Wonder if he came over to swing on the kid's swing set. LOL Think this was your visitor too? You did a great job on your first Halloween card Renee. He look a lot friendlier than the other. Glad to hear you had a good visit and safe trip home. Hugs!

  7. I spy a big black bear, oh my goodness! That is kinda scary to be that close to one like that... We don't have wild animals here on my island so seeing pics like this gets me all excited....
BTW, love your cute card above.... I'm glad you had some fun quality time with mom and friends... Hey Renee, I finally became your newest follower too! Now I can keep tabs of your awesome creations...
    Enjoy your day!
    Sweet hugs~

  9. Thanks for stopping by my blog. We, too, had a bear visit our neighbor's cabin last year on vacation. We were stupid and went to get closer for a picture...not the smartest thing we've done! LOL

  17. I agree with Cindy. Your bear is so much cuter. Amazing that you got close enough to take the picture. That being said, SCARY that it was so close to homes.
