Mesa Rubber Stamp Show
I haven't been in the mood to make any cards since my Mom passed away but after spending the day yesterday demoing for the lovely Maribeth of QKR Stampede I'm itching to get back at it! I'm in Mesa, Arizona for 6 weeks & noticed on facebook that Maribeth was looking for someone to help out so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm glad I did! Maribeth & her husband Lee were charming & I had a wonderful time showing a bunch of crazy crafters like me the beautiful technique of using gold leaf. I have never been to a stamp show before (they never come to poor old Winnipeg) so this was a real eye opener for me! I can't believe how many people were there...& especially how many men! I got to check out all the adorable stamps that QKR has....& now have a list a mile long of ones I want! I found time to wander around & part with some money. I found a new "girlfriends" stamp that I just had to have, some new Memory Box & Spellbinder dies & of course the gold leaf & "sticky powder" which I had never heard of. If you haven't seen QKR or Eureka stamps you have to check them out! I have my Christmas card image for this year...an adorable snowman & bird from QKR. Now, hopefully I will have a card to show you in a day or two. I only have a few supplies here with me but I'm sure I can come up with something. Hope you are all well & crafting lots!
Hugs, Renee

Renee, I am jealous! A stamp show is the best. What fun to get out and about with fellow stampers. So glad you were able to get away and enjoy yourself, sure it is just what you needed right now. Can't wait to see what you bought and how you use it.

Fun time for sure. I love craft shows. Everyone is trying to find new treasures and learn new tips and techniques. I have never worked with gold leaf myself. I look forward to seeing your newest creations.
ReplyDeleteHi Renee you were asking about the "Snowy Postcard" stamp you will find it at Crafts U Love, just google the name and it should come up. hugs Shirleyxxxxx
ReplyDeleteI am glad the "crafty spark" has returned for you, your Mum, I am sure would have wanted you to relax and have some fun crafting.

Thank you for your comment! I wish we did live closer. Your St. Patty's get together sounds so FUN! We have a huge Irish Fest in Milwaukee in August. We have gone every year for at least the last 22 years. It is so fun to listen to the music, learn to dance, talk to people, and, of course, tip a beer. My friends tease me because my daughter sang "Seven Drunken Nights"(the Dubliners) in preschool and the teacher laughed so hard...
ReplyDeleteAny how, I am glad you are getting back into crafting. Enjoy your time in Mesa. Sorry to hear about your Mum. Sending hugs.
Hey Girlfriend! I was so happy to have a comment on my blog from you! I'm sorry I haven't been by for a while... Ah a stamp show! I did one in 2008 with someone in Arizona as a matter of fact and it was interesting but exhausting as well. I also was helping someone else out at their booth demonstrating this and that... we traveled from Colorado (where she lived) to Arizona, then on to Nevada for another show and then to Utah for the last show and back to Colorado where I was more than happy to get on a plane back home to New Hampshire! Well, I wanted to know what it entailed to work shows and I certainly found out! lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your Mom... big Hugs, Beth P
