Giggling Snowman

I made most of my Christmas cards for this year using the adorable "giggling snowman" by Mo Manning. I coloured them up in various colours, used different gorgeous designer papers & dies & voila....done! This non traditional colour combo was one of my favourites....copics BG11 & BG13 & his cute little carrot nose was done with YR04 & YR07. The paper used here is "Falling Snow" by Fancy Pants & the die is Winterflake Border from Memory Box. The sentiment is from Beccy's Place & the gems from the $1 store. Thanks for taking a look.

Christmas Sprite

 

 

I'm finally back & with another image from Aurora Wings......Christmas Sprite. Isn't she adorable! She is coloured with copics; DP is Echo Park & CS is Bazzill. I've used dies from Spellbinder & Memory Box & the pine boughs are a Martha Stewart punch. It's hard to tell from the picture but there is Stickles on the trim of her dress & also on the Merry Christmas. This is my first Christmas card completed this year....I am so far behind! I am having surgery on Friday to remove a small growth from my eye so although I coloured 20 images yesterday it will be awhile before I can get them on cards. (will have a patch on the eye for up to a week...yuck!)  Wishing all of my American friends a Happy Thanksgiving for tomorrow.

Star Dancer

This has to be one of the most beautiful images I have ever coloured....she is called Star Dancer & is one of many gorgeous images by Mitzi Wiuff of Aurora Wings. I've had her for over a year but was afraid of her! lol  Have you ever had one of those images you were afraid to colour?  I've coloured her with copics & although it is pretty hard to see in this picture there are little stars on her dress that I used diamond Stickles on. An image like this doesn't need much decorating so I just punched stars out of the white CS to show the pink CS underneath & then added a die cut flower (Memory Box) & pearl in the center.

Horse Love!

I have a very dear friend who will be celebrating her 65th birthday next week & one of the greatest loves in her life are horses.....her husband & Labrador retrievers are right up there too! We recently went to see an amazing show called Cavallia....Odysseo which features 64 gorgeous horses & some very talented humans.  I was in awe of not only the beauty of the  horses but also how intelligent they were. It was incredible to watch them go through their routines with no one touching them. If you get the chance to see Odysseo be sure you go. You will not regret one minute of it!

This beautiful image is a Serendipity stamp (thank you Sue!!) which I coloured with Prismacolor pencils.  It looks just like one of Darlene's horses called Tante, white blaze & all. I used kraft cardstock with the perfect DP from Kaisercraft to create a gatefold card.  A few little horseshoes, some bronze brads & a jute "rope" & voila, there you have it, the perfect card for a horse lover!

Autumn Beauty!

Here I am with another beautiful image from My Whimsical Little World. This is Autumn & you can find her here. The DP I have used are oldies from my stash....they are Sei. The CS is Prism & the lattice die cut & tree branches are Memory Box. This is sort of a cross between a Thanksgiving & a Halloween card.....the pumpkins, wheat & scarecrow say harvest time to me but the witches hat, ghost & bats are definitely Halloween....maybe I should call it a Thankoween card! tee hee  Anyway, the pumpkins & fence are a digital image from My Whimsical Little World that I coloured with copics. The scarecrow, wheat & ghost embellies are by Sandy Lion & the awesome DP is Echo Park. You can join in the monthly challenge over at MWLW here. It is always anything goes & you can use any image. Award of Excellence!

 

 

My niece is the nurse educator in the emergency department of a local hospital. She was recently recognized by the College of Registered Nurses with the Award of Excellence in Education. What a wonderful moment when all the hard work you put in is noticed! Of course, this was the perfect opportunity to get out this cute little nurse by Mo Manning to make her a card congratulating her on her achievement.  I found the star paper in my scrap bucket & it matched perfectly with the copic colours I used on her scrubs (BG10, BG11 & BG13) The CS is Bazzill; the star is a wooden button from JoAnn's that I coloured with BG13 & threaded with silver sparkly embroidery floss. Remember those magnetic sets of letters & sentiments that Making Memories put out eons ago? Well, that is where the "achieve" came from. It was stamped with Bermuda Bay ink from Stampin Up.  Thanks for taking a look.

  Not sure about you but I definitely wouldn't be afraid if this little "monster" showed up at my door.....the bats are another story though! I'm back with another adorable Make It Crafty image! This one is "Zoe Celebrates" & if you go to Zoe's You tube channel you can watch her colour the beautiful curly hair....showing you how to get depth into the hair. Orange isn't a colour I usually reach for but the person I made this card for just isn't a pinky kind of girl. I really like how it turned out!  She is coloured with copics & as the sentiment is part of the image all I had to do was matt it with Prism orange CS & add the Memory Box star die cut. Carly Celebrates!

 

I have been MIA for some time due to computer issues! I downloaded Windows 10 a few weeks ago & suddenly had no sound, no video & couldn't upload anything to blogger. I tried all of the suggested "fixes" with no success. Then I headed off on a weeks holiday hoping there would have been a "magic fix" when I got home but no such luck. After contacting the Windows help desk they informed me my computer wasn't compatible with W10! My big question is why would they let me download it if it wasn't compatible? Oh well, I am now back to Windows 7 & all is normal.

So, this little sweetie is Carly & she was created by the oh so talented Zoe at Make It Crafty. This is a cropped image of Carly which I learned how to do in a video on the MIC FB page. Beach Wagon

 

This beach wagon makes me want to go to Hawaii & become a surfer! There are a few problems with that dream....I can't surf for one & I don't like being in deep water....ah well, another dream down the tubes!  I made this card for my son's birthday (he has been to Hawaii & can surf!) & he loved it. One of my favourite places on earth is a beautiful little place in Northern Ireland called Caslterock. I spent many happy hours in a "caravan" there with a very dear friend. So when I saw this image of Paola's it brought a flood of happy memories to mind. It has been over ten years since I have been back to N. Ireland but I visit there regularly in my dreams!

I Love Moo!

 

I made this card for my Hubby for our 44th wedding anniversary which is today. I have wanted to use this adorable Mo Manning image called "Moo" for ages & this seemed the perfect occasion. Just look at the soulful eyes on her! The verse inside reads "It's a good thing we still have each other 'cuz no one else would put up with either of us!" tee hee.....I actually think that statement is pretty accurate! As usual I chose a CAS style & coloured the image with copics. The CS is Prism cranberry & the DP is Doodle Hearts by the Paper Studio.

 For my second post as a member of the My Whimsical Little World Challenge Blog team I picked this adorable little "nerd"....the only thing missing on him is a pocket protector full of pens!  If you want to colour him you can find him right here.  I used copics to colour him & glossy accents on his glasses. This sweet image is "Celebrate Joyfully" from Tiddly Inks.....isn't she adorable! This card is for my DIL's birthday & her favourite colour is blue so, blue she got....blue dress, blue flowers, blue ribbon, blue papers! Oh boy, do I ever envy you bloggers who manage to post every day! I know I could never do that but I am full of good intentions to post once a week....somehow life always gets in the way & even once a month seems to be a challenge these days! I'm on a quest to improve my blogging....wish me luck!

So, this beautiful image was a freebie from Zoe at Make It Crafty. Her name is Shellina...isn't she gorgeous! Zoe had a little challenge going with Shellina & that was to use aqua/turquoise when colouring her. I used copics # BG10, BG11, BG13, BG53 & BG57; her hair is BV02 & Y00 & her little seahorse buddy is coloured with Y11, Y18 & Y38.  It isn't noticeable but the fin of her tail is stickled. The sentiment is also MIC.  I'm not sure what those little "bubbles" are called but they are from Bunny Zoe Crafts.

Always and Forever!

 

Oh how I wish the colours on this card showed up properly....the pinks are just not right....they are a lovely soft pink but in this photo they look very washed out. I guess my next step needs to be photography lessons! I am writing this post as we are on our way to Penticton, BC for the wedding of our nephew Brett to his sweetheart Jenelle on May 16th. The wedding colours are pale pink & grey & when I went to pick out my supplies for the card I found this gorgeous Recollections heart paper & matching shimmer grey CS. The image is Mo Manning which I coloured with copics & then fussy cut. It was then mounted on the shimmer grey CS that I had stamped with "itty bitty dots" by Stampin Up & embossed with winter wonderland embossing powder. The beautiful corner die & the flowers are Memory Box while the hearts & edging are Martha Stewart punches. I found the perfect satin ribbon & the little pearl ribbon slide to finish things off. The wedding should be lots of fun as it is the first time in 12 years that our family & Bill's brother's family have all been together...can't wait!

Love You More Than Chocolate!

Spring has sprung here in Manitoba so Bill & I have been busy raking leaves & cleaning up the flower beds to make room for the sprouting new growth. I haven't been making a lot of cards but had to create a special one for my beautiful daughter's birthday this month. This is another adorable Mo Manning image "love you more than chocolate".  Check out the size of that chocolate heart....would love to sink my teeth into that!  And  that face....is she not just so sweet! She is coloured with copics. The DP, burlap flowers & the pearls are all from Recollections; the CS is Prism;  the hearts are cut from kraft paper using a Martha Stewart punch. Now, I am off to start on a birthday card for our grandson Tristan who is turning one this week & a wedding card for our nephew Brett who is marrying his love Jennelle in 3 weeks. Erin Go Bragh!

Meet "Erin", one of the new images from Mo Manning. The minute I laid eyes on Erin I knew I had to have her & I even had the perfect DP just sitting in my stash begging to be made into something sweet.  This was my first time colouring a red head & I am quite pleased with the results. By the way, Erin go bragh means Ireland forever. The DPs are by DCWV & the CS is Core'dinations. The shamrock embellishments are stamps that I cut out & popped up on foam dots.

Birthday Train

Isn't this little birthday train adorable?  It was a freebie over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps to celebrate their 4th birthday....each train was "custom" made....you just had to let Barbara know if it was for a boy or girl, age & the # of cars. Mine is going to my grandson Tristan for his 1st birthday next month. The train is coloured with copic markers & I used glossy accents on the window to make it look like glass; DP is Dina Designs & Colorbok & the ribbon is from my stash. It doesn't show up in the picture but I "stickled" the flame on the candle & all of the sprinkles on the cupcake. Thanks for having a look!

Love You Beary Much!

I made this exploding box card for my Granddaughters for Valentine's Day. Once again, it is a DT card for Beccy's Place. My DT spot for Beccy is coming to an end & I am really going to miss working with her sweet images. I'm so thankful to Beccy for giving me my very first DT position.
This adorable panda bear is part of a set that also includes a lion & a hippo & all the "sweet hearts" sayings. I used my copics to colour him, DP & flowers on the sides are Recollections & the sparkly hearts I'm not sure of because I threw the packaging out.....bad Renee!

Flowers of Friendship

Hello, my name is Renee & I am a bad, bad blogger! It has been nearly 2 mths. since my last post!  I have escaped the cold Manitoba winter by coming to Mesa, Arizona & the beautiful blue skies & warm weather. We are staying in an RV resort where I have found a group of other ladies here who are as crazy about making cards as I am & we have been getting together once a week to share ideas & to create. I'm loving it!

My card today is a DT card for Beccy's Place. The image & sentiment are by Beccy Muir. I coloured the image with copics....I'm fairly happy with the flowers but really need some practice on leaves. I wanted to keep the card very simple to highlight the beautiful flowers so I just edged the white CS with a Martha Stewart punch & put is on some orange Bazzill CS, added a bow & ta da....finished!
